HAIR: simple party idea // Cerys

Posted by Unknown at 12/31/2013 0 comments

Welcome to my blog post, please follow us and comment anything you would like us to try review and any other blog posts or tags you want us to do, all beauty or fashion related please ;) it would help a lot! <3

This is the under 5 minute side sweep i will be showing you how to do, i hope this helps with any occasion really, especially help you all will last minute party's for the new year, enough rambling ;) now let me show you what you need and how to do this side sweep, enjoy! you can find us on twitter @TeensWithABlog <3 (p.s this hair do takes practice but once you know how to do the snake braid you will be a pro)

What you''ll need:

How to:

First you need to brush all the hair so there are no knots,

Then take a section of hair from the front of whatever side you want (about and inch or two),

Put the rest of the hair away out your face in a loose pony tail,

Then split the section of hair in to two equal pieces,

Then grip one to the back of the head out the way,

we now are going to do something called a snake braid (i will show you how but i can't promise it will make sense, not very good at explaining ;) i'm sure if you get stuck youtube will have a tutorial somewhere)

You just do a normal 3 strand braid/plait,

Then you take the two side strands and put one over the middle to the other side strand so you should have two strands together on one side then the other strand should be by its self. (confusing right? pictures will hopefully make more sense),

Where the side stands meet (should be on the middle strand) you pinch then you pull up where you are pinching while holding onto the middle strand with the other hand,

Try and follow the numbers on the previous pictures if you are completely confused ;)

You then slightly loosen the braid so it has a snakey looking wave going through the braid. it should be half the length of the braid you started off with,

Then grip back the braid then do the same with the second section of hair you griped back earlier. you can backomb the hair to add volume and then apply hairspray where needed. you can curl or straighten or wave your hair but my hair is naturally straight so i left it and backcombed a little :)

Thanks for reading hope this helped! Happy New Year! <3

Christmas sale haul!

Posted by Unknown at 12/29/2013 0 comments
Okay so I got given quite a lot of money for Christmas this year, so me and Cerys decided to hit the shops in Bristol!

The first shop we went to was the Yankee Candle Shop. They were having a sale on all there Christmas stuff so I managed to pick up a wax tart for 94p! In the scent 'Snowflake Cookie'

That was the only thing I brought from Yankee as nothing else really caught me eye. (This is a lie, I wanted to take the whole store but I needed to save my money.)

We then popped into Superdrug, one of mine and Cerys' favourite shops! I received a £10 Love 2 Shop voucher so I thought this would be the perfect place to spend it! I managed to pick up 6 'I love..' products for just £10! I had brought my mum the 'Coconut & Cream' body butter, exfoliating shower smoothie and bubble bath and shower crème for Christmas and want to get my self some.

I went for:
- Strawberries and Cream body butter.
- Strawberries and Cream exfoliating shower smoothie.
- Strawberries and Cream bubble bath and shower crème.
- Raspberry and Blackberry hand lotion.
- Raspberry and Blackberry body spritzer.
- Raspberry and Blackberry lip balm.
they all smell amazing and I've already tried out them all out.

We then popped into Lush who also had a sale on there Christmas stuff! What a surprise! I was very good and only picked up 2 things, after knocking a lip scrub off the shelves and making a huge fool of my self! Oops!

I got:
- Santa's lip scrub.
- Magic wand bubble bar.
I saw the magic wand bubble bar in Zoella's Lush Haul and I've been wanting it every since so when I found out it had 50% off I had to get it!
The Santa lip scrub Cerys had and she said its amazing! Its Cola flavoured and smells a-ma-zing! And a bonus that I only spent £5.11 instead of £11.45!

The last shop we went to was Primark, and lets just say there were a few things that caught my eye.

(The hat and chequered tops I have already gave to my sister and nephews so that why they are not included in the picture)
I picked up:
- 2 Chequered tops in sizes 2-3yrs and 5-6yrs for my nephews.
- Bobby Pins.
- Vanilla Candle.
- Marvel Comic top.
- Purple Knitted Jumper.
- Hat for my sister.
- Over the knee socks
- black scarf with white poka dots on.
- Black skinny jeans.
-2 Lace bows.
- Hand sanitiser.
- Grey purse.
All this came to just under £45!
Over all I spent about £60 which isn't that bad, but is all my money gone after paying my mum back and putting some back for a new phone! (if I could I would of spent a LOT more in superdrug and lush!)

I hope you enjoyed look at what I brought :) if you want to know the price of anything tweet me (@/typicalteens_yt) or comment belowand I'll tell you :)

See you next time!

10 Winter Favourites 2013! (All things beauty!!)

Posted by Unknown at 12/10/2013 0 comments
Hey guys, welcome too our blog! This is the first post being uploaded, so I hope you enjoy and follow for more uploads to come!
This blog post is my top 10 winter favourites of 2013!

My first favourite is 'Santa's lip scrub' from Lush. £5

I absolutely love this product especially for winter, its scent is cola and smells soooo nice, this isn't a flavour that pleases everyone's pallet but I recommend you look out for one in a local store, this is a great stocking filler and is very festive! I use this once a week since I have bought it recently. I wouldn't recommend using it more that once or twice because it exfoliates your lips and around that area and if you use it to much it could make that are sore, my lips are incredibly dry during winter so I would recommend this if yours are too.

Next up is 'Baby lips' from Maybelline new York £2.99

yes its another lip product! I love baby lips because they do many different types, I have a few that are tinted pink I love them because they do the job of lipstick while moisturising them as well. anyway my favourite for winter is the intense care balm because as I said my lips are so dry in the cold weather and this balm really helps. I carry this or another baby lips every where pretty much and its really effective having it for anytime use.

No. 3 in winter favourites is '8-hour cheek stain' from So Susan £ (sorry couldn't find price)

I love any form of blush in the winter as it adds a cheeky tint to your look for those rosy cheeks in the cold. I had never heard of this brand before but I found out about it at the Birmingham clothes show! I love this roll up cheek stain because it evens out that rosy glow you get in the cold. Around Christmas I always have red cheeks because of the weather but sometimes it makes me look blotchy, I think this Is a good  product because it evens it out and still looks natural, I defiantly recommend you try and find this!

Next up is '18 hour stay time concealer' by 17 £4ish (I think)

I know its a bit of a weird item too have in a winter favourites but this really helps me nearer to Christmas when I start to relax and stay in a lot. This is a really good beauty product for the days where its too cold to go out, or maybe a lazy day or maybe if your family is coming down and you can be bothered to get all fancy and dressed up but head for the more natural look. I love this because it covers spots easily leaving a matte look it is great for und the eyes as it makes you look flawless.

Product 5 is 'scandaleyes retro glam mascara' by Rimmel London £6.99

This mascara is a life saver like the concelear for those lazy days where you want a natural look. This is a great product because it adds length and curls the lash with its amazingly shaped brush. I got the shade 001 because I like the lashes more defined. I really recommend this all year round because it really is a good buy.

Next up is 'moisture match mattifying facial moisturiser' by garnier  £5ish (I think)

I use this a lot in the colder weather because as you can imagine my skin becomes dry and it becomes harder to apply makeup. I recommend this even if your skin isn't dry because it really smooth's the skin and help keep healthy. usually my skin is oily so this helps for this too and overall does a fantastic job!

One of my must haves is 'proporlis gel' by SBC advanced skincare £ (unsure)

In the winter I usually get really bad eczema up my hand ad fingers and I have tried many products and this is the only one that really helps. this is made with natural ingredients and helps with pretty much most things like spots, eczema and is great for sensitive skin! it does an amazing job and I recommend this for any one with the same eczema problem as me.

Another favourite is 'Matte shade 17 & shade 19 eyeshadow' by MUA £1 pound each

This could be very close to my favourite winter beauty product, they are incredibly cheap and quality makeup. I recommend this to people who like make up but aren't prepared to pay loads for it, I am pretty much obsessed with this brand (as you will see through future videos and blogs!) these eyeshadow shades paired create a matte perfect natural Smokey eye I think they look great together and you can even buy the shimmery shades to create a more festive winter look.

Next up is 'Matte wild berry lipstick' by MUA £1

As you can tell I'm in love with matte makeup I think it makes the look more natural. This colour is a lush wintery colour that comes out more of a pinky sort of colour, I think that this completes ay winter look with a darker and warmer tint for a festive look.

Yes I know, its not a beauty item but who can live winter without a cosy Onesie from new look sale £15-£20

I Love snuggling up with the candles burning watching my favourite Christmas films in my cute onesie, to anyone who doesn't have one I recommend you get one now! I honestly don't know what to say about this favourite except from it is a winter must have!

Thank you for reading my blog post please follow and check for any other posts!
